  • Anyone care to help me out?

I feel clueless in the whole issue. I'm currently a high school math teacher. I've been teaching for eight years (with a two year hiatus) so I've been out of college for 10 years. I got my degree in Mathematics. For various reasons, I'm thinking of a career change. Several people I know have suggested becoming an actuary. Couple of questions...

-- With where I am in my life, it'd be hard (near impossible) to do this and only this. I would need some kind of part time program. Is this possible?

-- Anyone know of online degree programs? I live about an hour north of Milwaukee, WI and traveling to a campus would be difficult (also near impossible).

-- My main background is in math. I don't have much background in business of any sort. Is this a hinderance? I did well (3.7 gpa) in my math classes, so I am pretty proficient in math.

-- I'm researching the option right now, so truthfully, I don't know what to expect. Any help, comments, or anything would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!
