I am a senior student majoring in mathematics with an emphasis in secondary education. As I am about ready to graduate, I have begin questioning my dedication to teaching. I have acquired interests in the actuarial area upon doing research. I am questioning if it is possible for me to pursue a career as an actuary with a secondary education math degree? I have taken numerous high level math courses, including one statistics and probability course. Also, I have taken a macroeconomics course, as well as a microeconomics course. Is it a realistic possibility for me to pursue a career in the actuarial field?
