  • Needed Books for beginners

    Hi,

    I am a beginner as far as actuary is concerned.
    Please suggest me some textbooks for study.
    Also let me know if the following books are recommended:

    Fundamentals of Probability (2nd Edition) - Saeed Ghahramani;
    Calculus: Graphical, Numerical, and Algebraic - Franklin Demana;

    Regards,
    Pari

    I don't see any further posts in this thread. So I don't even know whether you are still interested in persuing actuarial profession. But anyway, if you are interested, on top of the above books that you are looking at, also look at

    A first course of probability -- by Sheldon Ross.

    and

    Probability: Science of Uncertainty with application in insurance investment and engineering by Michael Bean.

    If possible, get hold of an ACTEX manual, but I am not sure whether it can be purchased in India.
