  • A question about 2003rd Ed. of Samuel Broverman's manual

Hi everyone. I'm a college sophomore, and I plan to take exam 1 at some point this year. So, in order to prepare myself for the test I got ACTEX Study Manual written by Samuel Broverman. The only problem is that I got 2003 Edition of the manual. Does anybody know if there's any significant difference between the newest edition and the one I have? And also, is this manual everything I'l' need to for the exam? If not, what are some other materials I could use?
    Thanks in advance.

    Dmitry,

The 2003 edition for Course 1 (the exam was called
Course 1 prior to 2005) included a much more extensive
calculus section that has been reduced. Also, for
what is now Exam P (CAS 1), some probability distributions
were added to what was covered prior to 2005, and
the topic of order statistics was added. The 2003 edition
covers most of the distributions (but the 2005 edition
covers them in a little more detail) and the 2003 edition
    did not cover order statistics.

Thank you for your response. In other words, I can use 2003 edition, but I also need to get more detailed coverage of distributions and order statistics.

You will probably be ok with that.
