    Hello Everyone,

My name is Jesse and I recently finished my BA in Applied Math through the online program at SNHU, back in October 2016. I was not always a prospective actuarial student. I originally wanted to teach college and was on the road to the acedemia path and then realized that actuaries make crazy good money for solving problems that relate to all kinds of areas. I love the idea of being able to do what I am great at, which is math, and I love to learn. I am always researching things, even if I think I know about them so that I will gain even more knowledge. I thoroughly enjoy learning about everything. It really makes the world more fascinating; realizing that despite how much we know or think we know, there is an infinite universe of knowledge we still have yet to come across. Every so often, I would check back into the road to becoming an actuary, only to realize that I still needed a lot more math knowledge and such to even attempt the exams. When it came to my graduation, I felt like I was finally ready to get the exams under way. So, I began doing more studying specifically for Exam P, which the exam date is in May, because I want to start at the bottom of the "actuarial totem pole" and work my way up to ASA and then FSA rank later.

This being said, I am new to this website and the entire actuarial forum thing. So, does anyone know if there are specific study groups that have been set up for individual exams? Maybe we can set one up and meet at a certain time online or initiate a chat or something so that we can keep in touch with each other in the group? Math is much easier to learn when you are working with other people instead of just trying to learn on your own.

Anyway, if anyone wants to set up some sort of Exam P study group or the like, just email me at [email protected]. I would be more than happy to help others or share my progress with other people. There are questions right now that I am having issues answering with some pieces of those problems being something I just need a fresh look at because it is something that I feel like I should know but cannot seem to pinpoint HOW to get the answer. Simple math error probably.

    Best regards!
