First of all, I'll say this: I'm not an actuary.
My name is Willem, and I work as a paralegal for Legal Aid in Central Texas. In the course of my work, there are more mathematical demands than I would have imagined. Go figure. From time to time, I need a bit of help making sense of some of the figures that come my way. That's why I've joined this site. I learned a while back that one doesn't need to have all the answers, but it's good if you know where to find them. I'm hoping that the folks here will be able and perhaps willing to explain some things to me from time to time. I'm not unintelligent, but I'm also not a math guy. I have some fundamental skills and rudimentary understanding of things, but am not always able to connect the dots, so to speak.
