Hey Actuaries! Quick intro

Hey all...just joining this forum to understand the ''''' '' actuaries a bit better. I am curious mainly about the modeling software that everyone uses and their experiences with it. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Why? Well, a friend of mine is joining a company that specializes in that and my curious brain just started to search and search and now I am wondering how the software is used, what do people like about it, who are the big players, and all that.

I am a lifelong learner, so hopefully I'll meet some wonderful people on here willing to share their experiences.
